First Sunday of Lent, March 01, 2009

We begin as members of a Christian Community our Lenten Journey. Lent means ‘Spring time’, a time of new beginnings, a time of possibilities when the earth produces seeds of new life after the cold damp earth of winter. We are called as Christians to take a fresh look and the earth of our lives and to discover the seeds of possibilities that often lay dormant within us. Through reflection and renewal let us nurture those seeds of possibilities and nourish them in prayer.

May the power of the Holy Spirit that led Jesus,
lead you into a new spring time of inner growth.
May you discover new seeds of possibilities in the earth of your worries and anxieties.
May new dreams emerge and the courage to see them into fruition
May the winter of hopelessness give way to the springtime of hope
And may the earth of your being surprise you
as you Journey with Jesus to the glory of His Resurrection.
