FOURTH SUNDAY OF LENT, March 14, 2010

Dear Parishioner,
As a parish we are in the process of developing a Parish Pastoral Council, which is a leadership group that allows the priests and laity to work together to build up the parish community.

The purpose of the Parish Pastoral Council is to bring all the people of the Parish together to work jointly to build the Parish as a Christian Community and to ensure that the needs of the people are met as well as the needs of the diocese. To achieve this we need to prepare a Pastoral Plan for the Parish. The objectives of the Parish Pastoral Council are as follows:
To help establish aims and objectives for the Parish,
including, but not limited to, the areas of liturgy, faith
formation and community development.
To foster and increase a sense of community in the Parish and to develop parish activities in a manner which will best serve the interests of the Parish.
To achieve these aims we need your help. We would appreciate if you would take time to reflect on and complete the questionnaire delivered to each household.
Please return the completed questionnaire to the parish office or to the Church envelope boxes by the week-ending 20/21 March.

As I am leaving this week, I would like to take this opportunity to thank one and all for your kindness, co-operation and help over the past 3 years. It was enjoyable and uplifting to work in this parish, which has so much going on for it and most of all, it was you the people that make the parish and are so welcoming to those which visit, or work from the outside.
Veronica Doyle (Parish Secretary)

THIRD SUNDAY OF LENT, March 7, 2010

TIME TO PRAY
I got up early one morning
And rushed right into the day;
I had so much to accomplish
That I didn’t have time to pray.
Problems just tumbled about me,
And heavier came each task.
Why doesn’t God help me? I wondered.
He answered, “you didn’t ask”.
I wanted to see joy and beauty,
But the day toiled on, grey and bleak.
I wondered why God didn’t show me,
He said “ but you didn’t seek”.
I tried to come into God’s presence;
I used all my keys at the lock,
God gently and lovingly chided,
“My child, you didn’t knock”.
I woke up early this morning,
And paused before entering the day;
I had so much to accomplish
That I had to take time to pray.
