THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
The purpose of our lives is to give birth to the best
which is within us. – Marianne Williamson
There are so many challenges and demands in our lives that sometimes, at least I do, that we get so busy that we forget our true purpose – that purpose is to be the person that God has created us to be. In my life’s journey I usually have two problems that are similar but different - one I often times get myself running so fast that I forget that I have to take time to reflect on what it is that God actually wants me to be doing - although I am getting better at that (sometimes). The second is that I often forget that BEING all I am intended to be is not all about doing - it is about being. Being on the inside - taking time to stop, listen and hear what my heart is saying. Taking time to stop and sweep out the garbage that collects on the bottom of your heart from the debris that people and life tosses at me. Being in the silence to listen to God’s voice - words of comfort, words of joy, words of wisdom, words of challenge, words that are whispered so quietly that if I am not listening they are missed.

GAA
Mooncoin GAA Club would like to thank all those who contribute to making the recent 125 year weekend celebration a huge success. The Sport Complex was transformed to accommodate the exhibition of Mooncoin GAA memorabilia  made up of medals, photos, hurleys, newspaper cuttings tracing the history of the club from its formation in 1886 to the present day. A big thanks to all those who organised and participated in the Family Fun Day held on the Sunday. Finally to all the sponsors who gave generously to help make this a successful event. The U-12's U-10's U-8's and U6's played their part of making the whole weekend a success. To those who took part we hope they enjoyed it.
Last weekend saw the annual Roanmore Tournament under 8 & 9. Mooncoin had two under 8's and one U 9 on the day. All teams performed very well with medals coming home to all players. A great day was had by all.
Next Saturday the under 9 & 10 Mooncoin Tournament takes place with clubs from neighbouring parishes taking part. Your support would be great on the day.
Results: The first round of the U-14 championship Mooncoin 2-10 : Ballyhale 1-6. 2nd round - Mooncoin 3-7 : Piltown 2-8.
