It has been a joy to have the Communion children participate in our celebration of Mass each week. We look forward to their ongoing participation.
We invite the first Communion Children to participate on the following Saturday evenings for the next three weeks; it is an opportunity to wear their First Holy Communion Clothes!!
The Feast of Pentecost, May 23

The Feast of Corpus Christi, June 6
We ask all the First Holy Communion Children to come together on June 6, Mooncoin Church for the Corpus Christi procession, which will go from the Church to the Convent garden for Benediction, followed by a cup of tea in the hall.
We take this opportunity as a parish community to wish our First Communion Children and their families a great day!!!

CONFIRMATION DAY
May 16 at 11.00am in Church of the Assumption
Tea, blessing of the Confirmation Cake and presentation of Certificates takes place after Confirmation in the Parish Hall. ALL WELCOME

MOONCOIN GAA
Junior Hurling: Mooncoin take on Kilmacow in Mooncoin on Sunday, May 9 at 12.00 noon.
Official opening of the Sport Complex this Sunday evening, May 9 at 6.15pm by Paul Kinsella, Chairman of the Kilkenny County Board. At 7pm Kilkenny play Waterford. Large crowd expected, so come early and follow the instruction of the stewards for parking.
Result:Junior B Hurling May 1 in the Rower: Mooncoin 0-16 : Rower/Inistioge 0-8.

Mooncoin GAA Social Committee
Thursday May 13 at 8.30pm Function Room Sports Complex
Information and practical exercise session for strong bones by Ms Rosie Donnelly, Lecturer in Sports & Exercise Science (WIT), especially for women, including a practical demonstration of the various exercises which are beneficial for potential Osteoporosis sufferers. All are welcome.

May 10 is the last night of our Drug Peer Education Programme, ‘Healthy Life Choices’ is the Topic. Andy Hargreaves will also be there to meet our young people and to evaluate our programme. All Confirmation candidates are asked to attend at 7.00pm in the Boys’ School.
May 10 at 8.30p.m. Confirmation Parents and Families - Andy Hargreaves Waterford Drug Education Officer will speak on Alcohol, Drugs and Head Shops! The more we are aware as a parish, the greater hope we have for a healthier community. We extend the invitation to hear what Andy has to say to all the parish.
