19th Sunday in Ordinary Time, August 09, 2009

Dear Parishioner,

I am pleased to inform you, the parishioners of Mooncoin, of my appointment of Father Dermot Ryan, Curate, in the parish of Mooncoin, as and from September 01, 2009. Father Ryan has also agreed to serve the diocese in the area of Adult Faith Formation.

As you may be aware, Father Ryan received his doctoral degree summa cum laude (first class honours) in defending his Thesis at the Pontifical Gregorian University on June 25, 2009, (Method to Mission: The ecclesial vocation of a theologian as exemplified in the works of Francis A. Sullivan SJ in the context of method at the Gregorian University). On my own behalf and on behalf the priests, religious and laity of the diocese, I congratulate him.

I pray that God will bless him, his work and the people he is called to serve.

With every good wish.

Yours sincerely,

Séamus Freeman, SAC., Bishop of Ossory.
